Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial day has always been a day for fun. Growing up we always went to the cemetery and cleaned up our grandparents' headstone. We would also get together with our other grandparents for a barbecue. This year was no different. Well, the activities differ, but the good times did not!

To start the holiday weekend off, Carson had a preschool party. We went to the splash park for some fun.

Each child got an award, Carson's was "Best Singer." He does love to sing, especially songs that have actions.

Here are his friends from preschool.

There were seven kids and the moms took turns teaching each week. The kids had such a fun time and were all great friends.

I know this picture is a little yucky, but Katelyn was having fun blowing bubbles in the water. Thankfully she wasn't drinking it, although, this is probably just as bad. However, it was kind of cute (the first time anyway!)

Our kids love the splash park. It is too bad that it is not a standard feature at every park!

Next we move onto camping. Kelly took the boys to the annual father and sons campout. They of course loved every minute of it. Katelyn and I stayed behind and enjoyed lunch with a friend, shopping, and taking it easy at home!

Here are my boys at the rainy campground. One thing is certain in Phoenix, it hardly rains all year. Who would have guessed the one weekend they go camping, it rains! They didn't seem to mind. Actually, I think the mud made it more of an adventure for them!

Here are Connor and Carson with a couple of their friends.

Carson said his favorite part were the "smashmellows." (sidenote, the boy in the red apparently wanted to be in every picture Kelly took! He appeared in all but a couple!)

To finish things off, we had a fun time with our friends Tiffany and Freeman. Having a barbecue and a swim party. Who could want anything more? What a fun Memorial Day weekend!

That was one fun-filled weekend for everyone. The camping pictures made me want to head for the mountains (minus the mud). The boys looked like they were having a great time (loved their big smiles). The picture of Kate blowing bubbles was a hoot--she'll pretty much try anything, won't she? She looks so cute in her swim suit--what a figure!

Yes, even in Utah splash parks should be a standard at every park:) I love summer days, there is nothing quite like it. I love the pics!

Splash park .... what a great idea! I'll have to see if I can find one here somewhere.

Looks like so much fun! So I learned the hard way...the splash pad appears to be closed in the early afternoon. A resident told me it's closed 1pm-5pm. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

Sounds like fun! I can't wait to take the kids camping this summer. I love splash parks, too. Anna has stopped "blowing bubbles" in the water. She usually was drinking it, though.
