Thirty-seven weeks. I woke at midnight because my bladder was telling me it was time to go again! As I stood up, I felt a surge of wetness and my first thought was that I must not have made it to the bathroom in time! It wasn’t long before I knew that my water had broken. I opened up my What to Expect When You Are Expecting book, because all of a sudden I couldn’t remember the part about your water breaking.
I shouted from the bathroom for what felt like forever before Kelly finally heard my voice. In no time, we were off!
We had taken a birthing class, we had packed our bags, but at once, I felt the anxiety of wondering what the next several hours would be like.
Twelve hours later we had the most beautiful baby I had ever seen! Connor Kelly Zierse made his way into the world!
Kelly and I were of course nervous first time parents. We hovered over him and watched him sleep. Watching to make sure his chest was rising and falling. I would put off taking a shower until daddy came home because surely, I couldn’t leave my infant in his crib! I remember the first time we called the pediatrician after hours because we didn’t know how to help his congestion. I remember just wanting to hold Connor forever. He was such a good baby. He was happy, easy going, a great sleeper, and a great eater.
It has been six years later and you have brought us so much joy. You are such a delight. You are eager to learn and you love to help. Katelyn is so lucky to have a big brother who is always willing to help her and play with her. Carson is so lucky to have a big brother who sets such a good example for him. You are a great friend and making friends has always been easy for you. You have such a great imagination and you are always putting it to good use!
Happy birthday Connor! We love you!

Happy Birthday, Connor! We miss seeing you and celebrating with you. Maybe we'll make a cake today and put some candles in it for you. We love you!
I still remember you and Kelly coming to visit Devon and I right after we had Taylor. Who knew that you would have your own little precious one exactly one year later! That is so cool they share the same birthday. He is such a cutie and we hope his birthday was great! Happy Birthday, Connor!!
You failed to mention the fist 48 hours after he came home. We did not get a wink of sleep until he became the mentioned great eater.
Happy Birthday Connor!
Dad loves you.
Happy Birthday, Connor!
I loved this post Megan. How cute. Cute boy!
I hope you enjoyed your 6th birthday, Connor. Your parents are very lucky to have you for a son. It's been a joy to watch you grow & see what a fine boy you are becoming. You are also the best Disneyland ride partner I've ever had & a heckuva good Uno player too.
I think it's great that Kelly remembers the first 48 hours!!! What a sweet post! Happy birthday Connor!!
So Connor & Makenna have the same bday- cool! I have to laugh though as you talk about how you couldn't sleep cuz you just wanted to watch him breathe and make sure everything was okay with him. We were like that with our firt one (Jordan). In fact we stopped like 5 times bringing him home from the hospital because he would fuss. But by the time we had Makenna we just turned the radio up louder and stuffed a binky in her mouth. How quick we learn :) Happy birthday to cute Connor!
Well that brought tears to my eyes. I am such a baby when it comes to talking about having babies! Maybe it's because I just had one five months ago, I don't know. I think its great that you remember that so well. He is a cute little boy! Happy Birthday Connor! We love you!
I can't believe Connor is already 6 years old! Then again, I can't believe that you guys have been married for almost 8 years. Time sure knows how to pass us by. I hope all is well!
Connor,
