And One More Makes Three!

Yesterday we had the anticipated ultrasound! It seems like the moment I find out I am pregnant, I long for this day! Finally, my 18 week mark got here and we could have the ultrasound. Now, I know that the purpose of the test is to check for abmoralities and check sizing and so forth. But for me, being able to find out the gender is the best part! This ultrasound was exciting. The baby was moving so much. The arms and hands were waving about and we even saw the little one yawn! In all my sonograms, I have never seen the baby yawn.

Here is a profile picture of our little fetus!

And here is the proof! Yep, it is a boy! Now we have to come up with a name! Now, that is a dilemma.

Welcome Back

The temperature is dropping and it is time to revisit one of our favorite places.....the park! Last week we took advantage of a beautiful evening and headed to one of our favorite parks.

It is interesting to think that our family and friends, in other regions, are bundling up for winter and heading indoors, while we are finally coming out of hibernation and enjoying the outside!

After an evening of playing, we came home and cut into our miracle watermelon! It was red and delicious!

Something Wild Growing Back There.....

This is the time of year when we spruce up the backyard! It is now, when we welcome back those wonderful temperatures! That means that the kids can play outside and I can open the blinds and let some sunshine in, without heating up the entire house! It is now that I am reminded of how it is possible to get through those hot, hot, months of summer. Well, with the exception of this weekend because we will be back to 100 degrees!

Anyway, yesterday morning was cool enough to get outside and pull some weeds, trim some over grown shrubs, and mow the lawn. I was pulling weeds when I noticed some wildly growing vine, that I was sure was a weed that would soon be taking over the yard!

I asked Kelly if he could come figure out where it was growing from so he could pull it out. After he rummaged through it for a bit, he called me back over, and said "come look at this!"

So it wasn't a wild weed growing! Just a wild watermelon plant growing! Kelly then remembered that months ago, after eating a slice of watermelon, he threw some seeds in the flower bed.

I don't know if it will taste any good, but we have successfully (although unknowingly) grown our first watermelon!

You've Had a Birthday!

My Little Miss Kate turned 2 last Saturday! Wow, time goes fast! It is always fun to celebrate your little one's birthday. For me, I tend to reminisce about the day they were born and how they have grown and changed through the year.

Katleyn got to celebrate a little on both Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday was a busy day and we didn't have much time before Daddy went to work for celebrating. But she was able to open her presents!

She loved the attention and was excited to have "pessants!"

It is customary for me to come up with some sort of cute cake. This year Kate got a Kitty Cat! The boys didn't quite understand why she was getting cake on Sunday because clearly her birthday was over!

Happy Birthday to our sweet little Katie Cat!

Infinite Power of Hope

I love these videos on LDS.org. They are always very touching and it seems like when I watch them, it is something that I needed to hear that particular day. This one about hope is no exception. I thought I would share it with you!

"No matter how bleak the chapter of our lives may look today, because of the life and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we may hope and be assured that the ending of the book of our lives will exceed our grandest expectations." President Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Some Pictures!

I don't have anything real interesting to share, but I do have some pictures!

Mommy and Kate!

Don't be deceived by this pretty face! She isn't always so innocent!

Connor was student of the month for August! Here he is shaking the Principal's hand. He also got a coupon for a free french bread pizza a drink from a nearby pizzeria. He was excited!

Carson doing one of his "cool moves."

A couple of posts ago, I shared a picture of Carson sleeping upside down. I guess Connor wanted to do something silly too! Don't know what he was doing when he fell asleep, but it was pretty funny to find him this way!

Katelyn's new favorite activity is coloring. But beware.....don't you dare color in her book!

I love my kiddos!

I've gone crazy!

My friend asked me if I had any ideas for super Saturday crafts. Me, being the none crafty person that I am, told her that I could probably come up with a few ideas. By this I mean, I just needed to do a little blog stalking!

So this is what I have been doing for the last several hours! I have come across some of the cutest blogs with the cutest ideas! I have also come to wonder how these people got to be so creative!

Anyway, I am passing my good finds along to you! Because I know several of you are these types of people who could have your own blog of cutesy, easy, homemade projects! So if you are interested, I have added some buttons on the left hand side of my blog for you to check out!

1st Grade!

Connor started 1st grade last week!
I got up early and made him a special "first day of school breakfast!"

This is out of order, but here he is in his new classroom.

My handsome little man! Of course, little sister had to be by his side. Every morning when we drop him off, she asks where Connor is. She loves her big brother!

So far his first week has gone really well. He likes his teacher and has some friends from last year in his class. It is crazy how much more work there is in 1st grade than Kindergarten. On Friday he has his first spelling test!

Hope you have a great year buddy!

Little Swimmers....And a Sight For Sore Eyes!

I am pleased to share with you yet more swimming pictures! Many of you might be thinking that you have seen enough! Swimming is a family favorite and it seems like I am always taking pictures at the pool. So, here are a few more!

Here are the boys waiting for their swimming lessons.

Later that day, we went to my cousins house in Scottsdale for a birthday party. We had such a good time. And yes, swimming was again the activity of choice!

Katelyn is proving to follow in the steps of her big brothers (as far as swimming goes!) She loves the water but I have found it to be more of a frustration than a joy to put her in the water! She doesn't want you to touch her or help her. She tries with all her might to wiggle right out of your arms. She also loves to jump off the side and her common request is "again, again!" Which usually means you stand at the side and let her jump until you can convince her to play on the steps!

On this particular occasion, she learned how to float on her belly. She would flap her arms a bit and calmly come up for air when she needed. I think it is great that she is so comfortable in the water, but a little less independent in the pool would be nice sometimes! I also love Kelly's face. It is like he his holding his breath for her!

Kelly and Kate right before the rains came down!

This picture I am just throwing in because it is cute and makes me laugh. After Katelyn finished her pudding, I found her in my bathroom. High heels and all! What a sight for sore eyes!
