Imagine

In my previous post I mentioned how my children love the Beatles. My brother's family also has a similar love for the band. So for a treat, we took our kids to Taylorsville Days to spend the evening with "Imagine," a tribute band to the Beatles.

A couple of years ago, we saw the same performance. However, my kids hadn't yet developed their liking for the music. They were much more into it this year!

Here are some pictures of our fun evening.

Connor and Carson got so excited when the band began to play. They immediately jumped up and started to sing and dance along.

Sophie and her Oreo face!

Uncle Josh and little Jace!

The band started to play "Eight Days a Week," and Connor could hardly contain himself. Here he is telling Emma that this is his favorite song.

More singing and dancing! Our kids had to be the only people between the ages of 2 1/2 - 9 who could sing along (yes, even Katelyn knows some of the lyrics!)

Katelyn and Anna were best buddies this night. Kate loves her "Tousins."

The band played for two hours. Following their performance, we got to watch some spectacular fireworks.

It was such a great night. Nothing beats a relaxing evening in the park, eating yummy treats, and singing along to some classics! This has definitely become a highlight of the summer and a new tradition to enjoy!

The Bucket Place......and other stuff!

For many years now, my kids have referred to this pool as "The Bucket Place." When we lived away, it was always a treat to come here. Now since we live right by the Oquirrh Park Fitness Center, we get to take advantage more often!

Katelyn and her upside down shades!

Jace was a little indifferent to the pool. Actually, moments before this he was screaming his head off. Soon enough he will be joining his siblings in the water!

Jace is nearly 3 months old already! It goes by ever so quickly. He is starting to get those cute baby rolls. I love it!

My kids new obsession is "Beatles Rock Band." It is such a riot to listen to them sing their lungs out. I think their favorite songs are "Eight Days a Week," "Yellow Submarine," "Lucy in the Sky," and "Can't Buy Me Love."

Katelyn and her friends singing along!

That is what has been going around our place!

Family Picture 2010

Last week we had a family picture with my brothers and their families. It was such a beautiful night and we had a fun time in Memory Grove. Here is a sample of some of my favorite shots! A big thank you to our neighbor Tia for taking some beautiful shots!

When we were done, the kids were all running around and playing in the water. These are some more great pictures of everyone being silly!

Old Friends

I have said before, that Buckeye Arizona has some of the greatest people on earth! Several years ago, I had the privilege of becoming friends with one of these terrific gals!

Tifany and I had two kids the exact same age and we were both pregnant with our third. Our boys had preschool together and soon enough, are families were inseparable. Crafting, eating, laughing, shopping, and baseball games were some of our favorite passtimes.

The sad day came in November of 2008, when a job opportunity took them to IOWA! We were all very sad but thankful to know that because we both had family in Salt Lake, the possiblity of meeting there during the summer was likely.

Sure enough, they came to Salt Lake! And lucky for us, we were able to get together.

Yesterday we met at a nearby park and got together for the first time in a year and a half.

You would have never guessed that it had been that long for these three guys! They just started playing right where they left off on the dreadful November day!

Katelyn and Maggie. It is hard to believe that how much these girls have changed.

Payton and Katelyn playing in the sand.

Connor, Carson, and Kutter having a great time.

After the park Tif and I went to an old favorite.....IN 'n Out Burger! Such a good day! We love the Wrights!

Good Times.......

This was the first nice week of the season, so we took advantage!

On Thursday we spent the afternoon at "This is the Place Heritage Park." We packed a lunch and had such a good time enjoying the beautiful day.

One of the highlights was the petting zoo. Surprisingly, Katelyn went right for the goats. I didn't think she would be so willing to pet them.

Here is Carson holding a baby duck. Isn't he cute! He picked it right up and looked it in they eyes and said "hello there little fella." It was so cute. Connor wanted nothing to do with holding a duck!

Pony rides!

I think one of the best parts of this park is the incredible view of the entire valley.

Here are the kids (and Kelly too) panning for gold.

This week we also enjoyed an evening walk to the park. Jace is such
a good baby and is so easy going. He enjoyed the stroll as well! This is also a nice shot of the scratches on his nose.

Little Miss Kate!

Cousin Brynlee came along too. She loved the slide.

Connor and Carson on the monkey bars.

Last weekend we also spent a lot of time with cousins. Kelly's brother was in town and the kids loved every second they had with each other.

Here are most of the grandkids. There were 5 missing in this photo. They have such a good time together. It is fun to see them all together.

And here is little Jace. He is starting to smile and I love it. He has been such a joy to have.
So, that is what we have been up to this last week. Hopefully the weather will only get better from here and we can continue to enjoy the outdoors!
