Oh How I Miss Fall...Let Me Count The Ways!

Many of the blogs I read are of family and friends in our hometown of Salt Lake. Because it is now October, I have been reading and seeing lots of fun things about fall. Reading some of these blogs have left me feeling.....well....a little homesick!

Pardon me while I reminisce on some of my favorite things about fall!

-I love the changing leaves. I miss taking a drive through the canyon to admire the many colors of fall. I also love the crunching sound that is made as you walk over fallen leaves.

-There is a crispness in the air that I haven't felt for years! I miss that feeling you get inside when summer turns to fall.

-I loved to pull out my fall/winter clothes. I know it sounds silly, but I miss sweaters!

-I miss the Scarecrow Festival! It became a tradition to take our family each year to enjoy the entertainment and activities.

-This one goes way back, but I miss the soccer field! I loved going to soccer games in the fall. Wrapping up in a blanket and taking in that crispness I mentioned earlier, what good times!

-Another favorite was my mom's clam chowder and grandma's home made french bread. There's nothing like hot soup and bread on cool fall night. Often times after being at a football game, we would gather together for some of this good old comfort food!

These are just some of the things that I have been missing in the past few days. There are good things about fall in Phoenix too. For instance, it is only 82 degrees at 12 in the afternoon instead of 102, and our walks to get Connor from school are a little more pleasant now! I have also been thinking of how nice Halloween is here because we don't have to wear our winter coats over our costumes. I do enjoy many things about Arizona, but I can't help but miss many things about Utah!

Well at least Arizona has the brown part of the fall colors covered. Ha ha ha!

Now I feel guilty for not taking advantage of the colorful canyons. It's like when you hear stories about people who travel miles and miles to go to the temple. We'll have to go, luckily I think Fall has been a little late in coming this year, it's not too late!

I hear ya! Maybe we should get a little spontaneous and drive up over the weekend!
-I really miss the canyons too!

I hear ya, fall in Utah is beautiful. I wouldn't mind for fall to last longer...I'm always sad that it's cold for so long (oh wait that's rexburg!! :) )
Those pictures you posted were awesome.

Makes me really appreciate being here. But missing the fall means you also miss the nasty Utah Winters, so maybe there's some silver lining!

Yes...I do love Fall in Utah. But I REALLY miss California in the winter. So in a few months, you can laugh and be so glad you're in Phoenix!

I LOVE the fall, too, Megan. I never thought about the Halloween aspect, though. You guys don't have to worry if your costume is warm or not. That is fun!

You described Utah so nicely I was picturing myself there! I'm so excited that we can now turn the air off and open the windows! What a difference it makes. I also liked Tifany's comment on the Arizona brown. Ha Ha.

It makes me homesick for you too!! I really hope it isnt to far away for you to come back home. I am so proud of the both of you and how you take care of the family. I wish myself there just to give a hug and kiss to everyone. Pen and I drove to Logan last week and it was soooo beautiful. I wish I had remembered my camera. Love ya Mom

Oh Megan, I am so with you on the fall loving. Sara and I decided that heaven will be like fall. It's a good thing that the holidays start just as fall is ending or I think I would go into a deep depression. Soccer just ended for Marquie and we only have 2 more soccer weekends:(
