The last few weeks have been so nice here. The weather has been beautiful. We have spent lots of time at the park and playing in the yard. Kelly even took the boys to the father and sons camp out last weekend. Along with nice weather comes the urge to plant new flowers, extend our patio, purchase outdoor furniture, organize the house, paint the upstairs, do some redecorating, move the furniture and take a vacation.
Most of my wishes require much money, time, and energy. I wish I had all the time (and money) in the world to accomplish these dreams! I suppose we will start small and buy some petunias for my pots and buy a new shower curtain for my bathroom! That should be enough to get by for now!
Another reason a lot of my wishes won't be happening is because of Kelly's finger! He had his surgery about 2 weeks ago. He hasn't been able to use that hand very much and I have felt the results of that.
With his direction and little help, I put together a new entertainment center, moved a computer desk, and moved some bedroom furniture. I quickly realized why I don't do these types of things more often! I do much better with laundry and dinner! His finger is doing pretty good. It is still in a splint and has the stitches and pins.
He will soon find out when he will be able to use it again!

Kelly's Finger
Kelly was playing in a Flag Football tournament on Saturday. He loves to play any sport, especially in a competitive way! Each time that Kelly fell down, I crossed my fingers that he would get up without any hobbles or injuries. At some point he did jam his finger, but since he has done this many times before, he didn't think twice about it.
Days pass and Kelly's finger is swollen, red and unable to bend. It is the day before SWAT school and he decides that he should see the doctor. They have an x-ray done and it shows that it is broken. The doctor suggests that he not go to SWAT school and that he see an orthopedic specialist.
So, we make an appointment. The specialist determines that he will need surgery to repair the piece of bone and ligament that are no longer where the are supposed to be. Now most people would say that this is not so bad. But when a right handed police officer breaks his right index finger, it makes his job a little tough. Nobody wants a police officer who can't shoot accurately because of broken finger!
Not only is he bummed because he can't go to SWAT school, now he has to sit at a desk for 10 hours taking calls at the police station. Now if you know Kelly at all, you know that this is no good for him! One, he hates talking on the phone and two, he hates to sit still!
Hopefully all will go well with the surgery. Hopefully his finger will heal quickly and he will be able to return to do what he loves best.... police work! Good luck Kel!

"Hip Hops"

Carson is an unusual little boy! He is your typical two (almost 3 year old.) He loves to play and get into things. He loves his brother and has to do everything he does. Carson also has to do things in his own way and in his own time.
When children misbehave, they have to be disciplined appropriately. Most kids are sent to their room, stuck on the naughty chair, or made to face the wall. Well, this is the unusual part. Carson loves his flip flops (or hip-hops as he calls them.) If one is lost, it is the end of the world. And imagine what happened when he found the one the dog chewed up. He has to know where they are at all times and has to wear them everywhere we go. It is a good thing that we live in a place where it is flip flop season most of the year.
Anyway, when Carson is in trouble we just have to threaten his "hip-hops" and everything is well again! I always have to laugh when that is the one thing that will work when dealing with his tantrum or naughtiness.
As long as flip flops are in style, we'll be okay!

Family Update
It has been a while since I last posted something. I thought I would write something tonight!
Things are going well for our family. Our kids are growing so fast and learning new things all the time. Our little Katelyn is 4 1/2 months and is getting so big! She weighs about 17 pounds and her first tooth just popped out yesterday! It is so crazy how time goes faster with each child! Our boys are doing well too. They are both little social butterflies! We were at the park today and Connor and Carson gladly began playing with the other kids that were there. They look forward to anytime that they get to play with others. It makes me so happy to see that they are so social and get along with other children so well.
As for Kelly and me, we are doing good too! We are just keeping busy with our little family. Kelly loves his job and enjoys all the excitement that comes with it. With the Super Bowl being here last week, Kelly and his bike partner were able to work at some of the festivities that were going on around the valley. They had a good time doing that. They were able to meet and get their picture taken with Torry Holt (St. Louis Rams) and thought that was pretty neat!
We hope that you are all doing well too! Hope to hear from you soon!

A New Year
Well, Christmas has come and gone and a new year is in full force! We had a wonderful Christmas in Salt Lake this year. This was our first Christmas in Utah since we have moved to Phoenix. It was fun for the kids to see what a "White Christmas" really means! We had a lot of fun visiting and be together with our family members. Although hectic at times, it was great to see the kids playing with their many cousins. I think that was the best part of their trip! We miss being in Utah with our family and friends. Being able to share Christmas with them this year was especially nice.
I am sure this year will be an enventful one! There is always something exciting that happens. This fall we will have a kindergartener! I can't believe Connor will be 5 in April! I am sure this will be one of the highlights of the year. Hopefully we can take a family trip somewhere fun. It is great to be only a short drive to Southern California! I always look forward to taking a vacation, especially when Disneyland is involved!
Well, I suppose that is all for now! Here are some recent pictures of our family.
