Are You Kidding Me?

Last Friday, Kelly got the okay from the doc to return to normal activity. He has been looking forward to this day for weeks now. So on Wednesday, he got to work, got his bike ready and he was off!

Well, things didn't go as planned! Kelly and his partner, Freeman, were trying to stop a guy. They ended up on a foot chase. After only being back on bike duty for about an hour or so, Freeman gets hurt! He injured his elbow and it looks like he'll need surgery. I couldn't believe it!

So, no more bike squad for another 2 months! How crazy is that? Kelly finally gets back after 12 weeks, and the hour they are out there, Freeman gets injured. Kind of bizarre if you ask me!

On a more positive note, Kelly tackled the guy into a muddy puddle and hauled him off to jail!

I enjoyed your positive note on that post. Ryan and I laughed hard at the muddy puddle comment. Poor Kelly and Freeman!! I heard there is a huge addrenalin (?Sp) rush chasing a bad guy down. I doubt I will ever chase a bad guy but maybe I will try running from the police to see if I get the same rush.

What a bummer. When you tell stories of Kelly, on duty, I imagine everything in "COPS" version. Do you ever watch that show? Devon loves it! Way to go, Kelly!

That is a bummer! What do they do in the meantime? At least his one hour ended on a good note for Kelly. What kind of bad guy was he? What a scary job! Good job, Kelly!

NO WAY!! How frustrating for Kelly!
I love hearing the chasing bad guy stories, although sometimes they can be a bit rough.
Off topic I would love to know the link or whatever to your friend who is a fitness master....or whatever. I need to really get serious and stay motivated.

Bill told us about this at Grandpa's party. I couldn't believe it!! I must say it was nice, however, knowing the background story about Kelly when I heard what happened to Freeman. It made me really glad we are all blogging together so we know more about each other's lives. Way to go Kel!!

Thanks Kelly for getting the bad guy! Freeman said he was so happy to be back on bikes with you, and that at one moment (before the accident) you were both smiling... We'll get him in tip top shape so you guys can be reunited by the end of summer. Go SWIKE TEAM!
